Kunal Anand

Laying forward the idea of the ‘car’ as a symbol for one’s sense of self, freedom and destiny, Kunal Anand’s quest across the cultural and social landscape of post independent India between the 1950s and 1980s, finds expression in a series of limited edition silk-screened artworks titled ‘Indian Classics’. Casting iconic India-made automobiles as the protagonists, he depicts them in fluid states of assembly and disassembly — as they cluster around their typographic identities in a distinct style and bold colour palette.
